Fix: PDF Service Not Available

If you see an error like "PDF service cannot be accessed at this time", the app couldn't reach the online PDF generation service. This is almost always a connectivity issue and resolves quickly.

Quick Fix

Wait a moment and try again. The service may be briefly busy. Most users find this resolves within a minute or two.

If It Keeps Happening

Work through these steps one at a time:

  1. Check your internet connection — open your browser and load any website to confirm you're online.

  2. Restart the app — close MobileBiz Pro fully and reopen it, then try generating the PDF again.

  3. Use the built-in PDF Service tool — go to Settings > External Services > PDF Service and tap Test Access. If the test fails, tap Change to switch to a different PDF server, then tap Test Access again.

Settings > External Services > PDF Service screen showing Test Access and Change options

  4. Restart your device — a full restart clears many temporary network issues.

  5. Check for a firewall or VPN — if you use a firewall app or VPN, temporarily disable it and retry. Some security apps block external services. Whitelist MobileBiz Pro if your firewall app supports it.

If All PDF Servers Fail

If Test Access fails even after tapping Change and testing again, the issue is most likely your network or ISP blocking the PDF service — not the app itself.

Try these:

  • Switch networks — if you're on Wi-Fi, switch to mobile data (or vice versa). This is the fastest way to confirm whether your current network is the problem.
  • Corporate or school network — if you're connected through a workplace or school network, the IT department may be blocking external services. Contact your IT team or switch to a personal network.
  • Use a VPN — a VPN can bypass regional or ISP-level blocks on the PDF service domains.
  • Use the HTML workaround — if you need a document right now, see the section below.

Work Around It Without Internet

If you need a document right now and can't connect, use the Print as HTML option instead:

  1. Open the transaction and tap the share icon in the action bar.
  2. Choose Print as HTML (no internet) — the app generates an HTML version and opens it automatically.
  3. In your browser, tap the menu and choose Print, then save as PDF.

Good to Know

  • PDF generation always requires an active internet connection — this is by design. The HTML option is the offline alternative.
  • Reports also use the online PDF service. If PDF export fails from a report, use Export as CSV instead.
